Dr John McDade MBBS, FRACGP
Dr John McDade graduated from the University of Queensland in 1981. Following residency at the Gold Coast Hospital, he worked extensively throughout remote & regional Queensland including 2 years with the Flying Surgical Service based in Longreach. This was followed by extensive general practice experience as principal of one of Brisbane 's leading GP surgeries. He left general practice to take up a position as Medical Advisor at Health Services Australia prior to taking up his appointment as Medical Director of the Travel Doctor-TMVC in Brisbane . John is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine & maintains a keen interest in preventative medicine, corporate health screening, & all aspects of travel medicine. John has a Certificate in Travel Health and is qualified to perform Oil and Gas UK medical examinations.
Dr Ron Edmonds MBBS (Hons)
Ron graduated with honours from Monash University in 1973. He is a keen traveller & a long term member of the ISTM. 1975-1987 were spent in solo country practice in North Western Victoria. He was involved in general medicine, accident & emergency, anaesthetics, surgery & obstetrics. 1987-2000 were in private general practice in Hervey Bay where became involved in travel medicine due to large backpacker population. Ron has been with Health Services Australia since 2001, with main interests in occupational health & travel medicine.
Dr Noela Kwan MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Noela Kwan graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland . She worked for several years in Nambour General Hospital before moving to England to work in anaesthetics. After a year of backpacking in Europe, she returned to Queensland to focus on her general practice training and was awarded her fellowship in general practice in 2003. She has worked in the field of travel medicine since 2003 and achieved her Certificate in Travel Health in 2008. In 2004, Dr Kwan travelled to India and participated in the polio eradication program in Lucknow . She has been a keen traveller over the past 15 years and has visited 40 countries so far. She particularly enjoys walking holidays and has trekked at high altitude in China , Nepal and Peru .
Dr Helen Bajada MBBS (hons) DRANZCOG, PG Cert Women's Health(Monash)
Dr Helen Bajada graduated with honours from Monash University in 1985. Helen is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine and was awarded the Certificate in Travel Health in 2008. Helen also holds postgraduate qualifications in women's health. She has worked in General Practice since 1990 and in Travel Medicine since 1992. She enjoys travelling and has travelled extensively with her family. She is enthusiastic about the health of families travelling overseas. She has viewed life as an expatriate living in South America for 1 year while her husband worked in the mining sector.
