Staff:

Our Medical Staff are trained in international public health & travel medicine. TMVC staff have travelled extensively & many have worked in less developed areas for extended periods.

Medical Director: Dr Sonny Lau MBBS, MRCP(UK), MPHTM

Dr Lau is a medical graduate of the University of Melbourne. He has been working specifically in the travel medicine field since 1993. Prior to this Dr Lau worked in Hong Kong between 1985 to 1991. He then gained training in Infectious Diseases at the Fairfield Infectious Diseases Hospital in Melbourne. He completed his Master of Public Health & Tropical Medicine at the James Cook University of North Queensland in Townsville in 1998. He is a certified medical examiner for recreational diving medical. His special interest is tropical diseases in returned travellers.

Doctors:

. Dr Richard Wright - Dr Wright has been with TMVC for many years & has been the expedition doctor for Nepal trips in 1994 & 1995 & several group trips including a large group of elderly travellers in 1997. His special interest is in HIV medicine & Sports medicine.

. Dr Michael Henderson - Dr Henderson has worked with TMVC since 1991, prior to this he has worked in South Africa, The United Kingdom & PNG.

. Dr Mark Carty - Dr Carty has a background in General Practice, and has worked in Travel Medicine since 1996,including several years of Corporate Medical work at BHP.He completed his Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at James Cook University ,Queensland, in 2008. He is a certified medical examiner for recreational Scuba diving medicals.

Registered Nurses: All of our nurses have travelled extensively & most have worked overseas or been involved in volunteer programs or nursing training abroad. They are all highly skilled & trained to give injections & are able to alleviate the fears of the most anxious `fully grown child`!

Hours of Operation:

Monday & Thursday 9.00am to 8.30pm

Tuesday 9.00am to 8.00pm

Wednesday & Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm

Saturday 9.00am to 1.00pm
